Trailblazing Success As A Female Bodybuilder And Fitness Trainer: Dr. Rita Jairath

January 2, 2024

Whenever we talk about muscular physiques or bodybuilders, images of prominent male bodybuilders and influencers immediately come to mind. But there are women like Dr. Rita Jairath who are breaking barriers and proving that women can also shine in the field of Bodybuilding.

Rita Jairath, a bodybuilder and fitness trainer, is known for her exceptional achievements and contributions to fitness. Being the only Female IFBB Pro-League International Judge in Asia and the recipient of numerous national and international awards, she has made the country proud. Not only this, but she actively empowers other women to discover their true potential and break barriers in bodybuilding and fitness.

Trailblazing Journey: Rita Jairath’s Triumph Through Challenges

Hailing from Delhi, Rita faced a tough time during her childhood. Her mother was suffering from schizophrenia and undergoing intense medical treatments. Her father had a demanding job in the Air Force, so she didn’t get the love and care every child needed. She married early to escape a difficult home, but unfortunately, her marriage turned out to be disastrous. Her in-laws used to torture her, treating her like a maid and pressuring her for dowry. In the midst of all this, she gave birth to her son, who was born autistic. From then on, she dedicated all her efforts and focus to giving him the best possible life. She wanted to provide her son with all the love and care that she didn’t receive during her own childhood.

She never left him alone, provided extra care, and accompanied him everywhere. At a very young age, her son developed an interest in physical fitness and joined the gym. Rita accompanied him during his gym sessions, and it was there that she found inspiration to start weight training.

Initially, stepping into weight training and Bodybuilding wasn’t easy for her, as there were very few women in the field at that time. Additionally, she faced criticism from society, lacking the support that made it even tougher. But despite all these, she was firm in her decision and got into competitive Bodybuilding, and showcased herself in multiple fitness events. Embracing Bodybuilding turned out to be her best decision. Due to her dedication and hard work, she stands among the first female bodybuilding pioneers in India.
