Nature’s Wellness: Revolutionizing Skincare with Tatha By Divita Kanoria

May 10, 2024

Often, when something big happens in life, it can spark the creation of something totally new and unique. One such experience gave birth to ‘Tatha,’ a Delhi-based brand that makes natural skincare products with plant stem cells. Tatha wasn’t just a spur-of-the-moment idea. It came from deep thinking prompted by tough times faced by its founder, Divita Kanoria. Her journey from a passionate aromatherapist to a pioneering entrepreneur in the skincare industry is nothing short of inspiring. Her impact caught the attention of our platform, Women Listed, where it adds to the brands credibility.

From Healing to Entrepreneurship

Divita’s tryst with aromatherapy began a decade ago, fueled by her innate desire to delve into the realms of healing and wellness. However, her path was not without its share of challenges. Amidst personal turmoil, including her husband’s tragic accident and her near-death experience, where she was bedridden for about a year, she fought back without giving up. She found solace and purpose in blending her own concoctions, paving the way for what would eventually become her brand ‘Tatha.’

From the confines of her bedroom, Divita embarked on a mission to create products that transcended conventional skincare norms. She says, “Initially, we were called ‘Tathastu,’ which means so be it. But then a lot of people were having a little bit of a problem pronouncing it, so I shortened it to Tatha, which means blessings. And we take everything from nature, so our tagline is Nature’s Blessings.”

Tatha embodies her reverence for nature’s potent remedies. What sets Tatha apart is its pioneering use of plant stem cells, a groundbreaking innovation in the skincare industry, with a range of products spanning from face wash to hydrosols, which can act as a toner or mist. Then we have a 5 in 1 gel-based serum, scrubs, masks, and anhydrous SPF, which means there is no water in their SPF products. So, the ingredients completely get absorbed into the skin, giving 97.5% protection from the sun and both UVA and UVB rays. Not to forget, they also have moisturizers. Each product in Tatha is meticulously crafted to deliver unparalleled efficacy while staying true to its natural roots.

Hurdles Faced by Divita

Yet, the journey was not without hurdles for Divita. The initial challenge of funding was a big challenge for her, but she overcame it with the unwavering support of her friends and family. Furthermore, there were significant challenges in figuring out the qualifications and certifications and distinguishing them in the skincare industry. However, Divita’s unwavering commitment to quality and authenticity ensured Tatha’s ascent.

Achievements and Empowering Other Women

Divita’s accolades, including her winning prestigious beauty awards, are testaments to her relentless pursuit of excellence. Despite her reserved demeanor, Divita’s proactive approach to marketing, leveraging social media and personal interactions, has garnered a global clientele, with customers from London to the US.

For Divita, success is not just measured in sales figures but in the lives touched and empowered. Through Tatha, she champions women’s empowerment, providing opportunities for those who have been absent from the workforce, embodying the spirit of lifting others as she climbs.

Balancing Passion and Personal Life

For Divita, balancing work and personal life is a constant juggling act. While she acknowledges the challenges of growing a brand, she remains steadfast in prioritizing her family. Her children are her greatest motivation, propelling her forward even on the most challenging days. She says, “My biggest motivation is my children. So the day I feel okay, that’s enough, I need to hang up my boots; they are the ones who always say- ‘you can do that because your products are simply awesome.’ So thanks to my children, who have been my biggest supporters and motivators.”

Lastly, Divita tells all fellow women entrepreneurs, “Please follow your dreams. It starts with a passion; don’t let your passion go. Have that thing that is okay even if you don’t make money; you know it’s not going to happen so soon. Today, there is so much competition that it really takes years, but please don’t lose heart, and please just go on. And also support other women entrepreneurs.”

In Divita Kanoria’s story, we find not just a successful entrepreneur but a beacon of empowerment and innovation. Through Tatha, she’s revolutionizing skincare and spreading the message of wellness and resilience. With her dedication to nature’s blessings and empowering others, Divita Kanoria is indeed a force to be reckoned with—a true inspiration for generations to come.
