For many women, fatigue, breakouts, painful periods, and mood swings are brushed off as “just part of being a woman.” What often goes unspoken is how little clarity or support exists around these issues, especially when it comes to hormonal health.
That gap is what Mehak Goel, a former real estate lawyer in Dubai, found herself confronting. Behind the scenes of a high-pressure career, her body was sending distress signals. “Everyone said it was normal,” Mehak recalls. But her instinct said otherwise. She began researching how food and lifestyle choices influence hormones—and found a surprising lack of awareness, especially in an Indian context.
What began as a personal inquiry turned into NomWom Foods — a clean, women-led brand focused on hormonal wellness through functional, preservative-free foods.
We first discovered Mehak’s story at Women Listed’s Wellness & Chai event, where she stood out as one of the top five pitches in our Elevator Pitch Circle, winning an enthusiastic shoutout from the her fellow women entrepreneurs who joined the event.
Clean, Convenient, and Cycle-Supportive
At its core, NomWom is built around a simple belief: hormonal health should be supported through everyday food, not just pills or powders. Launched in February 2025, the brand offers preservative-free, small-batch products that help women support their bodies naturally.
The current line-up includes three products tailored to women’s hormonal needs. The Seed Cycling Kit features blends of flax, pumpkin, sunflower, and sesame seeds and is designed to support estrogen and progesterone balance based on menstrual phases. The Buckwheat Chilla Ready Mix is a 7-minute, gluten-free, vegan meal that’s high in fibre and great for managing energy crashes. And the Amaranth Energy Balls, a clean, caffeine-free snack, are rich in omega-3s and antioxidants, perfect for women needing an energy boost during the luteal phase.
All products are priced between ₹300–₹900 and developed with convenience, nutrition, and hormone health in mind.
A Woman-Owned Business Built From Lived Experience
“This isn’t a generic startup,” Mehak says. “I built this because I went through the symptoms, the confusion, and the lack of real solutions.” Her experience reflects that of many Indian women, and it’s what drives NomWom’s unique approach, real solutions through real food, not synthetic quick fixes.
As a woman entrepreneur, Mehak has kept NomWom grounded in community. Feedback from women directly influences everything from product development to educational content. The Amaranth Energy Balls, for instance, were created after hearing from women looking for clean, caffeine-free energy alternatives.
Recognition, Resonance & Growth
Despite being bootstrapped, NomWom has already built early traction. From hosting a hormonal health panel at Miranda House, Delhi University, to being selected for FICCI Flo’s Startup Programme, the brand is steadily growing its presence.
At Women Listed’s Wellness & Chai event, Mehak’s pitch stood out for its clarity, relevance, and impact, earning a spotlight as one of the most promising women entrepreneurs at the event. It’s a reminder that visibility matters, and platforms like Women Listed play a crucial role in amplifying the work of emerging women-owned businesses.
Beyond Products: Building a Hormonal Health Ecosystem
Mehak’s vision is to make NomWom a go-to platform for hormonal health — offering more than just food. She plans to introduce new products across life stages, from puberty to perimenopause, and create access to experts in nutrition, fitness, and hormone health. Educational content, workshops, and tools will make hormone literacy simple and accessible.
“We’re not just selling food,” she explains. “We’re building a support system that helps women understand and take charge of their hormonal health with confidence.”
Advice From a Woman Entrepreneur Who’s Been There
“Start before you feel ready,” Mehak advises. “Clarity and confidence come from doing, not waiting.” She encourages aspiring founders to stay close to their purpose, grow at their own pace, and lean into community. For Mehak, being a woman entrepreneur isn’t just about business, it’s about listening to real needs and offering solutions that make a difference.
Mehak Goel’s NomWom is a proud women-owned business listed on Women Listed – a platform dedicated to visibility and discovery for women-led ventures across India.
