Making Ayurveda Accessible: The Journey of Ridhima Arora and Namhya Foods

November 22, 2024

Ayurveda is one of the oldest medical systems of the world, but with the advent of modern science and quick-fixes, many have forgotten about its benefits. Ridhima Arora is revolutionizing how we look at health by going back to our own traditional roots with her brand Namhya Foods. Offering organic products, Ridhima is making Ayurvedic remedies accessible so we can choose something better for the sake of our health. From building a brand that could compete with the Western remedies, to making a deal with one of the investors on Shark Tank India, Ridhima's journey of building a brand celebrating Indian Ayurveda is not to be missed.

What inspired Ridhima to start her business

Ridhima had firsthand experience with the limits of western medicine as she watched her father struggle with liver cirrhosis. Having turned towards Ayurveda to find solutions to help her father, she realized how traditional diets and remedies could revive one’s health better than anything else. So, this woman entrepreneur decided to learn all that she could about the ways of Ayurveda and create products based on them so she could help others as well. Leading to the birth of Namhya Foods in 2019. Her brand promises natural, Ayurvedic products that come without any preservatives or artificial ingredients.

What all Products she offers, and what is her USP

Through Namhya Foods, Ridhima offers a variety of products like teas, powders, and other organic raw items that not only help heal specific ailments but also prevent them. These products are based on her grandfather’s recipes, and do not contain any preservatives or additives.

One of her most popular products of this woman-led brand is her range of teas that help women during different stages of their menstrual cycle, like easing period cramps and dealing with other PCOS symptoms. She also has herbal tea to help women during menopause, by decreasing the effects of night sweats and even regulating mood swings.

Whether it is to help with skin and hair concerns, or health issues like diabetes, or even to cleanse your overworking organs like liver or lungs, you will find an Ayurveda-based product here.
Namhya Foods’ USP lies in adding natural herbs like ashwagandha, turmeric, shatavari, and more to their products to make them healthy and good for consumers. Ridhima’s vision has been to make her products a part of her consumer’s day-to-day life. Which is why; she has converted the complicated Ayurvedic remedies into easy-to-have items.

Facing Challenges and Strategies for Growth

People’s misconception regarding the slow effects of Ayurvedic remedies, along with the proof of their credibility were a few obstacles she had to overcome. From sourcing the authentic materials to educating the customers about the myths that shadowed the field of Ayurveda, Ridhima struggled with all of this during the early stages of her launch.

Then the advent of the pandemic also created some unprecedented challenges like the supply chains being disrupted which led to a constant struggle of obtaining the right ingredients. But Ridhima didn’t shy away from any of these challenges and continued to address them and find solutions.

Ridhima uses a multitude of ways to build her brand. Her appearance on Shark Tank India gave the viewers a gist of what she is offering, and also resulted in a deal with Aman Gupta. This helped a lot to put her brand on the map.

She posts videos and posts on social media educating her existing or new customers about the science behind Ayurvedic remedies, and what benefits her products can offer. Posting testimonials of other customers has even helped build a more personal connection to her products. And she has even made her products available on online stores like Amazon so anyone can purchase them without the added hassle of going to another website.

Built from her own personal struggles of trying to simplify the goodness of Ayurvedic remedies, Namhya foods is a woman-led brand that is introducing and helping people live a healthier life. You can buy her products from her website, and you can find her details and relevant links on her Women Listed profile as well.
