All you need to know about setting up your own Home Baking Business

December 27, 2022

Home Baking Businesses are incredibly fascinating and they come in ALL shapes and sizes!

When we talk about baking, the cake is the first thing that comes to our mind. But baking is much more than just cakes. From making delicious cookies to mouth-melting brownies, bakers have always been there for us to fulfil our sweet cravings. In busy Modern days, the demand for baked products has been at an all-time high. This has allowed many passionate bakers to start their businesses from home.

We understand running a business efficiently is not a cakewalk. And it's not a hidden fact that bringing business online can give access to millions of home bakers without investing in an elaborate bakery setup. With all the research we could do to make your business journey a bit easier we have come up with a few ideas to help you get the creative juices flowing:-

Setting up an online store

The first step to selling online is setting up your store. This means you need to start with your website or tie up with other online sellers to sell your produce. These days there are many easy and convenient service providers like wix.com which has inbuilt templates to help you create your website. And the best thing about it is that it's free to use. GoDaddy.com can always be referred to, to get a domain name and web address at cheap rates.

Have a product list in place

The next step is to list your products. If you sell assorted items, ensure to list them in different categories and display them on different pages. For, instance, cakes, biscuits, and bread, are your niche, ensure that all of these are listed under individual categories. This will help your customers navigate easily through the webpage. Tag every product with its self-clicked image and the relevant description. Since the data available on the website is the only source of validation for your customer, they can decide the sales conversion from your website.

Strong delivery network

A well-operational delivery network for your business is crucial. You should prefer tying up with a delivery service with multiple courier partners who can help you with your logistics in the city as well as intercity as per the nature of your business.

Customer support

When you are in business, you are bound to get positive or negative feedback. Your clients might even need support in product customization. Therefore, you must put effort into establishing an easy approachable customer support system.

Social media presence
If you’ve got a baking craze going on in your life, some of your work is likely displayed on some form of social media. Instagram and Facebook play a vital role in bringing your business into the eyes of your customers. Instagram, is the mega (and still growing) social platform around. With around 1 billion active monthly users, its visual nature, clean format, and extensively innovative features make it the social marketing app of choice for bakers across the world.
